How do I setup Onyx?

Every team member should install the Orion app. Click one of the buttons to get the app. Or, launch the App Store or Google Play and search 'Orion Labs' to find it.


Launch the Orion app.

For iOS:

Tap Log in at the bottom of the screen.

Log into the app with the email and password you chose for your Orion account. 

For Android:

Tap Log in at the bottom of the screen.

On the following screen log into the app with the email and password you chose for your Orion account. 

For both iOS and Android:

If you do not have an account for your organization yet, follow the steps to accept your organization invitation to make one.

 


 
For iOS:

Tap Connect an Onyx and follow the instructions on-screen to power on and connect your Onyx to your mobile phone.

For Android:

You will be brought to your Groups within the app. Tap on the Yellow prompt at the bottom of the screen to pair your Onyx.


For both iOS and Android:

You will see two groups, Echo Chamber and Translation Preview, as well as any additional groups an admin has added you to.Join Echo Chamber to learn how to talk using Onyx.

Join Translation Preview to check out Orion's English/Spanish translation.

If you have other groups, you can join one of those and talk to other members of that group with Onyx.


For both iOS and Android:

In a group, you'll see a member list at the top and a map below.


Rings around member avatars indicate their status:

 Blue - Active: Ready to listen and talk.

  Yellow - Silent: Can't hear or talk to people. Onyx may vibrate to indicate group activity.

  Gray - Offline: Receives no cues about group activity.

Members may choose to share their location (or not) on the map.

If the group has any Leaders, a will appear before their name in the member list.
