My microphone is plugged in but I’m not hearing audio. What should I do?
- Ensure the volume is increased loud enough to hear.
- Go to Windows or Apple OS settings to the audio function and confirm the correct audio output is selected.
Why is someone showing offline?
Users are added to talk groups so that they may communicate with their team members. There are a few possible reasons someone would show offline:
- Users need to be signed into the app/web console and have joined a group to appear online.
- If a user switched from one group to another, they would show offline in their last group. A user can only be online in one group at a time.
What is the recommended web browser?
The latest version of Google Chrome is recommended. It can be downloaded here: https://www.google.com/chrome/
I can’t hear any messages, what should I do?
- Check your audio output to confirm that it is directed to the appropriate source.
- Ensure the volume is loud enough to hear.
- If the issue persists, please complete a hard refresh:
- On Mac - Press and hold Command ⌘ + SHIFT + 'R' letter on keyboard
- On Windows - Press and hold CTRL + SHIFT + 'R' letter on keyboard
- Ensure that you’re connected to the internet by running a Speed Test: www.speedtest.net
Who has access to Dispatch within my Orion organization?
Dispatch is available as an add-on. The Dispatch console is available to designated accounts that are assigned a Manager or Admin user role.
What does the red recording icon in the Dispatch browser tab indicate?
The red recording icon indicates that the Dispatch page has permission to use your computer’s microphone. It may appear when you first load the page, and for some time after you send a voice message. Web Dispatch will only record you while you are holding down the PTT button or a direct message PTT button.
If you haven’t sent a message recently, then you may sometimes see the speaker icon. This appears when an incoming message is playing, or when you are re-playing an earlier message.
How long does the Dispatch log retain messages?
The message log contains all messages for the logged-in user from the past 24 hours.
Why is my messages not showing in the message log and not playing?
If your messages are not playing live and/or not showing the latest messages in the message playback log perform a hard refresh in the browser with the following steps:
- On Mac - Press and hold Command ⌘ + SHIFT + 'R' letter on keyboard
- On Windows - Press and hold CTRL + SHIFT + 'R' letter on keyboard
Note: If you're logged into the Mobile app make sure you leave the Group on that mobile device when using WebPTT
